Construction Safety Enhancement in Thermal Power Plant using Data Analysis and Statistics

Abstract

Each activity of construction industries is associated with its risk that requires more focus to mitigate it as soon as possible to make work area safer. To mitigate these risks, site execution team and site safety team jointly inspect the site through various site auditing tools and identified all hazards and risk on scheduled basis. After documented all these hazards, control measures are decided to implement at site to prevent the occurrence of occupational injury and illness. All construction activities are having their safe working procedure which must be followed by workers during working at site. Before starting of the any construction activity, work supervisor must investigate all activities procedures in which accident may occur and implement the prevention techniques to prevent them. This procedure also involves the awareness development programs for site associated workers and employees regarding the risk mitigation plan and its effective execution at workplace. As per current scenario construction industries are having largest number hazards and risk at workplace those leads to occupational injury and illness. Hence to reduce these accidents and illnesses determination of these hazards are mandatory jointly by Site execution team, site safety team and Site top management team on scheduled basis. This paper may help in the identifying suitable techniques to assess available hazards and risks associated with work activity at construction site.
