Abstract

In this paper, an industrial structure of dimensions 23.75 x 16.25 m with 5 bays and 3 bays horizontally and height of 9.60m is analyzed to compare its behavior for the different partial moment release conditions. Initially, the industrial structure modeled using STAAD, then the foundation and column is assumed as pin jointed, tapered property sections assigned for beams and columns, applied self-weight, live load, wind load and load combinations as per IS 875 -1987. The structure is analyzed using the partial moment release at 0 to 100 % at an interval of 10%. It has also been analyzed for push over analysis. From the analysis it is concluded that based on strength, serviceability and economy criteria the response is optimum at 80% partial moment release as well it will soon attain its non-linear behavior compared to others.
