Abstract

Resistance spot welding (RSW) is metal surface joining process. in which contacting metal are joining by the heat obtained from electric current. It is generally used for fabricating sheet metal assemblies such as automobile part, truck cabins, rail vehicles and home applications due to its advantages in welding efficiency. A study will be conducting to investigate the mechanical properties of sandwich material. In this work, an attempt is made to review the literature on the effect of welding parameters such as welding current, welding time, welding force and materials etc. to obtain the optimum welding parameters for resistance spot welding. Many researchers have used the various techniques such as Taguchi method, Design of Experiments (DOE), Response surface methodology (RSM), Box-Behnken experimental method are very popular due to its versatile usage in various field of engineering application especially in welding problems.
