Abstract

A revolutionary technology that has made it possible to produce intricate metallic structures with customized mechanical properties is additive manufacturing, or AM. An extensive analysis of the mechanical properties of metallic components made using additive manufacturing processesis presented in this paper. The study explores how material choice, post-processing techniques, and process parameters affect the mechanical behavior of AM metallic structures. By examining tensile strength, fatigue characteristics, hardness, ductility, impact resistance, and fracturetoughness, this study clarifies the complex relationship between mechanical performance and fabrication parameters. Future directions including multi-material integration, advanced monitoring, and sustainable practices are also discussed, along with obstacles like anisotropy, residual stresses, and material homogeneity. This paper tries to steer future developments inoptimizing AM metallic structures; mechanical properties for various applications by clarifying the complexities and opportunities that exist within them.
