Abstract

Azo-colored compounds that form the basic structure of many synthesized compounds in many fieldsof chemistry, especially coordination chemistry, as they contain a group (-N=N-). These dyes arewidely used as colorants, as they contribute to nearly 50% of artificial colors. Also in manyapplications such as ink-jet printing, optical imaging, and biomedical diagnostics , azo dye containsone or more D-π-A systems that can produce various colors by changing the electron donation (D) ordrawing Electrons (A) are in functional groups , and azo dyes have many advantages including easeof preparation, intense color and desirable stability. Azo compounds are important compounds formany researchers. Also, many antibiotics are associated with azo groups that contain heterogeneousring systems, and many heterocyclic compounds can be obtained in the laboratory, which arecharacterized by their biological activity, dyes, insecticides and polymers. The use of thesecompounds is of great importance in many colored materials for textiles, cotton and various types offields, even in the field of preparing organic and analytical reagents for the determination of ions inwastewater, water and environmental models contaminated with heavy water. Where thesecompounds have given a large space in industrial chemistry through the production of many dyes, polymers, and types of plasticized plastics, in addition to their entry in the installation of manycompounds that have proven their worth as anti-tumor compounds and agricultural pesticides.
