Abstract

The leading cause of childhood disability is cerebral palsy (CP) affecting functions and development of child. CP is a neuromotor disorder of cerebral origin. It is nonprogressive in nature. It cannot be linked to any single disease or condition in Ayurveda, as it is a multidisciplinary disease with clinical characteristics of a wide variety. Of the many species and subtypes of CP, no one has a known cure. Acharya Vaghbhata categorized the disease into Sahaja (inherited), Garbhaja (congenital) and Jataja (psychosomatic) diseases. Here, an attempt was made to treat a 2.5-year-old male child with a type of spastic using Ayurvedic internal medicine—Suvarna Bhupati Rasa, Kalyanaka Leha, Mahayograja Churna, Aatmagupta Churna and Yogendra Rasa. This treatment gave him an extra normal effect of standing up for behavioral and speech problems as well.
