Abstract

Modern power systems must have bidirectional DCDC converters. These converters are being usedmore frequently in a wide range of applications where both forward and reverse power flow arenecessary. These include but are not limited to electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, electricvehicle charging stations and energy storage systems. This paper aims classification dc to dcconverters, charging stations architectures and control strategies in micro grid bidirectional chargerto operate in both grid to vehicle (G2V) and vehicle to grid (V2G) modes. Vehicle to grid technologyhas gained a lot of attention as an increasing number of electric automobiles enter the market. Theplug-in electric vehicles provide the ability to integrate unconventional energy sources and can serveas a source of power or as a specific electric load. They can also be used as storage devices. V2Gtechnology can be implemented in the micro-grid to avoid some of the difficulties that would arise whenit is implemented in the power grid.
