Abstract

As we know that the use of  solar energy is increasing day by day in India and other parts of world. Net metering is a billing mechanism that uses solar energy system and adds excess electricity to the grid. Net metering allows residential and commercial customers who generate their own electricity from solar power to sell the electricity they are not using back into the grid. In India many states(Haryana, Delhi ) have already passed net metering laws. In other states, utilities may offer net metering programs. Differences between state legislation, regulatory decisions and implementation policies mean that the mechanism for compensating solar customers varies widely across the country a possible net metering policy is in need of ours. Here we go through the concept of net metering through solar system and analysis of data carried out  for the beneficial of consumers for studying the possibilities of net metering in India. Here we also found that simple net metering policy is unable to accommodate various categories of consumers. So making a net metering, which is more scalable, feasible and financially viable is challenge. The net metering  process is very much beneficial as it save electricity bills thus save planet too. The net metering is one time investment. It’s a source to use the renewable energy Resources
