Abstract

Air pollution has become a major concern for India. In every alternate news headline, many cities have a pollution index above the living standard. To reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases, electric vehicles are the most important option. It reduces the dependency on fossil fuels as well as reduces the impact of ozone-depleting substances and promotes large-scale renewable deployment. Despite comprehensive research on the attributes and characteristics of electric vehicles and the nature of their charging infrastructure, electric vehicle production, and network modeling continues to evolve and be constrained. The paper provides an overview of the studies of Electric Vehicles, Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Plug-in-Hybrid Electric vehicles, and Battery Electric Vehicle penetration rates in the market and discusses their different modeling approach and optimization techniques. The researchers on the essential barriers and insufficient charging facilities are addressed for a developing country like India which makes the study unique. The development of the new concept of Vehicle-to-Grid has created an extra power source when renewable energy sources are not available. We conclude that taking into account, the special characteristics of electric vehicles are so important in their mobility
