Abstract: This paper conducts a comprehensive static and dynamic analysis of a delaminated composite beam with and without a piezoelectric layer making use of the principle of minimum potential energy. A new finite element model for composite laminate with delamination defect using cohesive zone method is developed using ANSYS APDL.
