In Silico Study of Curcumin-Sugar Conjugates as Dual Inhibitors on Both COX-1 and COX-2 Enzymes for the Discovery of Anti-inflammatory AgentsBy Ruchika Goyal, Sandeep Jain
Abstract: Curcumin is a polyphenolic compound well known for its anti-inflammatory properties. The aim of the study was to design some novel curcumin derivatives that are water soluble as well as good anti-inflammatory agents with fewer side effects. In silico study was performed on the proteins by using three softwares iGEMDOCK, AutoDOCK, AutoDOCKVina as dual inhibitors for both COX-1 and COX-2. The result gives us theoretical contribution for understanding the ligand-protein …

Molecular Docking Study of Curcumin-Sugar Conjugates as Cholesterol Biosynthesis as well as Staphylococcus Aureus Virulence InhibitorBy Ruchika Goyal, Sandeep Jain
Abstract: Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus Aureus infections are the major concern in both, communities as well as in clinics. Presqualene diphosphate is the key molecule obtained from farnesyl diphosphate for the biosynthesis of staphylophyloxanthin which is responsible for the virulence of Staphylococcus Aureus as well as for cholesterol biosynthesis in humans. We designed some natural curcumin-sugar conjugates that binds to the protein associated with the formation of presqualene diphosphate and inhibit it, …

QSAR Studies of 3-(4-(3-(Substitutedphenyl) Acryloyl) Phenyl)-2-Substituted phenyl/Phenylthiazolidin-4-ones for Anticancer ActivityBy Ruchika Goyal, Ashwani Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Sandeep Jain, Parvin Kumar
Abstract: Both, Chalcone and 4-thiazolidinone, are therapeutically significant organic moieties with anticancer activities. QSAR (Quantitative structure–activity relationship) studies of ten synthesized chalcone-thiazolidinone hybrids have been described for anticancer activity against three cancer cell lines: A-549 (Human lung adenocarcinoma), U-87 MG (Human glioblastoma cancer cells) and COLO-205 (Human colon cancer cells). The developed linear QSAR models have significant statistical quality showing good fitting ability and robustness. The Q2 and R2 values of …

Design, Synthesis and Anticancer Evaluation of Chalcone-thiazolidinone HybridsBy Ruchika Goyal, A. Kumar, S. Kumar
Abstract: A small series of chalcone-thiazolidinone hybrids has been designed, synthesized in good yield and evaluated for anticancer activity on the three cell lines A-549, U-87 and COLO-205. All the compounds showed significant cytotoxic effect in micromolar range on the three cell lines. Compounds CT8 and CT6 were found to be the most potent on A-549 and COLO-205 (IC50 = 38.89 µM and 52.23 µM), respectively. Keywords: Chalcone-thiazolidinone, cytotoxic, anticancer activityCite …
