Growth and Yield Response of Rabi Pearlmillet (Pennisetum glaucum) to Irrigation, Nitrogen and PhosphorousBy Ratilal K Mathukia, D. M. Panara, K. C. Patel
Abstract: AbstractA field experiment was conducted on clayey soil during rabi season of 2010-11 at Junagadh to evaluate the response of pearlmillet to irrigation schedules and levels of nitrogen and phosphorus in terms of growth and yield. The treatments comprised irrigation schedules (0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9 IW/CPE), levels of nitrogen (100, 120 and 140 kg N/ha) and phosphorus (40 and 60 kg P2O5/ha). The results revealed that irrigation scheduled at …

Appropriation of Tillage and Sowing Pattern for Enhancing Productivity of Bt CottonBy Ratilal K Mathukia, B. K. Sagarka, B. M. Dabhi, D. M. Panara
Abstract: AbstractAn experiment was carried out at Junagadh (Gujarat) during 2010 to 2012 to assess the response of Bt cotton (NHH-44) to three tillage practices (Conventional tillage i.e. cross cultivation + blade harrowing + planking, Ploughing + blade harrowing + planking, and Tillage through rotavator) and four sowing patterns (Flat bed sowing, Furrow sowing, Ridge sowing, and Paired row sowing). The results revealed that ploughing + blade harrowing + planking significantly …

Evaluation of Micro-irrigation In Garlic (Allium sativum L.)By Ratilal K Mathukia, K.B. Asodaria, K.C. Patel, R.L. Davaria
Abstract: AbstarctA field investigation was carried out on clayey soil at Junagadh, Gujarat during the rabi (winter) seasons of 2010–11 to 2012–13 to evaluate different methods of irrigation (drip, mini-sprinkler and surface) at various schedules (0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 IW: CPE) for garlic (Allium sativum L.). The results revealed that drip and mini-sprinkler methods were found superior to surface irrigation method in respect of yield, water use efficiency (WUE) and economics. …

Micro Irrigation in Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) Under South Saurashtra Agro-climatic ConditionsBy Ratilal K Mathukia, B. K. Sagarka, M. A. Shekh, C. V. Patel
Abstract: AbstractA field experiment was conducted during 2008 to 2010 at Junagadh to evaluate methods (drip, mini sprinkler and flood irrigation) and levels of irrigation (0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 PEF) in coriander. The results revealed that mini sprinkler and drip irrigation significantly improved growth and yield attributes viz., plant height, branches/plant, umbels/plant and test weight and thereby increased seed and stalk yields along with higher net returns, B:C and water use …

Efficient and Economical Weed Management in Summer Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.)By Ratilal K Mathukia, B.K. Sagarka, C.N. Jadav
Abstract: AbstractA field experiment was conducted during summer seasons 2010 to 2012 at Junagadh (Gujarat) to study the integrated weed management in sesame. Pendimethalin as pre-emergence, while imazethapyr and quizalofop-ethyl as post-emergence were tested alone and in integration with hand weeding and interculturing. The results revealed that quizalofop-ethyl 40 g ha-1 as post-emergence (20–25 DAS) + HW & IC (45 DAS) and pendimethalin 450 g ha-1 as pre-emergence + HW & …
