Abstract: Reduction in weight, better fuel efficiency and cost effectiveness are the salient attractive features of Aluminum-Magnesium alloys and carbon composite materials. By making use of tailor welded blanks of dis similar materials of different strengths at appropriate locations in automobile outer body, one can achieve these objectives.
