  Abstract: AbstractAcoustic stethoscopes operate on the transmission of sound from the chest piece, via air-filled hollow tubes, to the listener's ears. In the stethoscope, the chest piece and the connecting cable are known to facilitate transmission of pathogens from patient to patient and from patient to the user.
