Development and Validation of Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometric Method for Assay of Zidovudine in Human UrineDevelopment and Validation of Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometric Method for Assay of Zidovudine in Human UrineBy N. Rajendraprasad, Urdigere R. Anilkumar, Kanakapura Basavaiah
Abstract: A sensitive and selective liquid chromatographic-tandem mass spectrometric (LC-MS-MS) method was developed to determine zidovudine (ZDV) in human urine. After solid-phase extraction with SPE cartridge, the urine sample was analyzed on a C18 column (Symmetry 3.5 µm; 75×4.6 mm i.d) interfaced with a triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer. Positive electrospray ionization was employed as the ionization source. The mobile phase consisted of water-acetonitrile (20:80, v/v).The method was linear over a …

Determination of the Antidiabetic Drug Miglitol in Pharmaceuticals by Ultra-Performance Liquid ChromatographyBy K. Basavaiah, N. Rajendraprasad
Abstract: Miglitol (MGL) is a drug used in the treatment of type-2 diabetes mellitus. A new analytical method employing ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) with UV-detection is presented for the determination of MGL in bulk drug and tablet forms. Analysis was performed in less than 3 min in isocratic mode on a reversed phase BEH C18 (100 mm × 2.1 mm; 1.7 µm particle size) column using phosphate buffer of pH 3.7-acetonitrile …

Determination of Gatifloxacin in Human Urine by Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass SpectrometryBy Rajendra Prasad, N. Rajendraprasad, K. Basavaiah
Abstract: Gatifloxacin (GTF) is an antibiotic of the fourth-generation fluoroquinolone family that inhibits the bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. A reliable, sensitive and selective isocratic reversed phase liquid chromatographic-tandem mass spectrometric (LC-MS-MS) method was developed to determine gatifloxacin (GTF) in human urine. GTF, in urine after solid-phase extraction with SPE cartridge, was analyzed on a C18 column (Symmetric 3.5 μm; 75×4.6 mm i.d) interfaced with a triple quadrupole tandem …
