Red Earth Development of a Soil-Based Composite Using Bagasse Ash and Lime: Effects on Plasticity and Compaction Characteristics of Red EarthBy Moulya H V, Vishvachetan S G, Chaithanya H, Karthik M
Abstract: The concept of sustainable soil composites (SSC) emerges through blending red earth with bagasse ash (BA) and hydrated lime to enhance geotechnical properties and enable productive reuse of agro-industrial waste. Red earth functions as the matrix, BA acts as a fine pozzolanic microfiller, and lime serves as the chemical binder. BA content ranges from 0% to 60%, with 10% identified as optimal; subsequent lime additions from 1% to 5% evaluate …

Composite Behavior of Bagasse Ash Stabilized Expansive Soil with Sodium Benzophenone Under Curing ConditionsBy Moulya H V, Vishvachetan S G, Hitha Chowdary, Geetha L
Abstract: The present investigation examines the development of a hybrid composite using Black Cotton (BC) soil, Bagasse Ash (BA), and Sodium Benzophenone (SBP) as performance-enhancing elements. Different ratios of BA, a silica-rich agro-industrial by-product, were added to improve pozzolanic reactivity and particle size distribution (0%, 6%, and 12%). SBP was added in the range of 0–0.6% as a compatibilizer in order to enhance interfacial adhesion, particle cohesivity and moisture-assisted deterioration resistance. …

Sustainable High-Strength Geopolymer Composite Reinforced with Nano-Silica and Basalt Fibers: Mechanical and Microstructural EvaluationBy Moulya H V, Ashwini Satyanarayana, Shivanand C G
Abstract: Sustainable soil composites (SSC) were formulated by incorporating red earth with varying proportions of bagasse ash (BA) and hydrated lime to enhance geotechnical performance and promote the reuse of agro-industrial waste. Red earth served as the primary structural matrix, BA functioned as a pozzolanic filler, and lime acted as a chemical stabilizer. BA content ranged from 0% to 60%, identifying 10% as the optimum level for significant improvement, and lime …

Revolutionizing Geopolymer Composites: Unveiling Intelligent Wall Facades and Precision PZT Sensors for Vibration AnalysisBy Moulya H V, Chandrashekar A., Ananthayya M.B.
Abstract: Evaluating the mechanical performance and environmental benefits of geopolymer composites is imperative for sustainable alternatives in construction. This study presents an innovative circular PZT-based sensor that effectively captures transient vibrations within concrete structures, demonstrating its validity in comparison to standard surface-mounted accelerometers. The research also elucidates the influence of sensor orientation on capturing various vibrational modes of concrete. Furthermore, the embedded PZT sensors provide valuable insights into the evolving mechanical …
