Histochemical Localization of Acid Phosphatase in the Haustoria of Two Stem Parasites Cassytha Filiformis L. (Lauraceae) and Cuscuta Reflexa Roxb. (Cuscutaceae)By L Rajanna, N.S. Suresha
Abstract: Abstract Acid phosphatases consist of a group of non-specific enzymes that hydrolyse a variety of organic esters with the liberation of phosphate ions. Sodium α-naphthol phosphate substrate is used to localise acid phosphatase activity. The activity of this enzyme was greatest at the sites of haustorial entry and in the region of the hausorial contact with the host vasculature. The presence of this enzyme at the region of interface indicates …

In vitro Axillary Bud Proliferation and Direct Organogenesis of Aristolochia tagala cham.: A Rare Medicinal PlantBy L Rajanna, GS Shailaja Sharma
Abstract: AbstractAn efficient protocol for axillary bud proliferation and direct organogenesis has been developed in Aristolochia tagala Cham. through in vitro propagation technique. Nodal segments and shoot tips were cultured on Murashige and Skoog’s media (MS media) supplemented with various concentrations of growth hormones. MS media fortified with BAP 1 mg/L and half-strength MS media with IBA 2 mg/L were found to be the best for inducing shoots and roots respectively. Keywords: …
