An Approach to Mathematical Modelling of Tensile Strength of 3D Printed ABS SpecimensBy Kaushik V. Prasad, Adarsha H, Deepak J, Ranganatha Swamy M K
Abstract: In the present work the tensile properties of 3D printed Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) are studied. Layer thickness, raster angle and raster width were varied. Experiments were carried out based on Taguchi’s L9 orthogonal array. Tensile strength of ABS specimens was determined from universal testing machine (UTM). Mathematical model was developed to predict the tensile strength of ABS. It is found that the predicted model has good fit with experimental …

Tensile and Impact Properties of Jute/Glass and Jute/Carbon Fiber Reinforced PolypropyleneBy Kaushik V. Prasad, Arun Kumar D. T, Raghavendra Rao P. S
Abstract: AbstractComposites have created a niche in the world market today as they provide a stiff, strong and lightweight material. Two types of composites polypropylene/jute/glass fiber and polypropylene/jute/carbon fibers were prepared by varying the percentages of jute, glass and carbon fibers, respectively. A proportion of 35:5, 30:10, 25:15 and 20:20 were maintained between jute and other reinforcing fiber (glass or carbon) in polypropylene matrix. Tensile and impact test specimens were prepared …

Tribological Behaviour of Epoxy-Marble Powder Composite with Taguchi Optimization TechniqueBy ASHUTOSH PATTANAIK, ADARSHA HIRIYANNAIAH, PRASHANTHA KUMAR H G, Kaushik V. Prasad
Abstract: Epoxy resin strengthened with marble powder particles is prepared by ultrasonic mixing strategy. Pin-on-Disc wear trial of the developed composite is done concurring with Taguchi optimisation. An orthogonal array is displayed and analysed the affecting parameters like fraction of marble powder reinforcement, load, sliding speed and track diameter on the composite. Signal to noise ratio analysis optimises the parametric conditions that yield minimum wear rate, minimum frictional force and minimum …
