Comparison of Percentage Reduction of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon on Treatment Using Bryophylum pinnatum Leaf: The Concept of Alcohol and Water as Solvent for Constituents ExtractionBy Abraham Peter Ukpaka, Joy Chukwuemeka Peter Ukpaka, Victor Chukwuemeka Ukpaka, Chukwuemeka Peter Ukpaka
Abstract: Investigation on the comparison of percentage reduction of total petroleum hydrocarbon on treatment using Bryophylum pinnatum leaf was indeed, considered by using the concept of alcohol and water as solvent for constituents’ extraction. The extracts were introduced into the various bioreactors set-up and the Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH) concentration monitored with increase in contact period. The investigation revealed decreased in TPH concentration with increased in the percentage reduction of the …

Comparative Study of Percentage Removal of Iron from Water Media Polluted with PMS and AGO using Different Particle Size and Mix Ratios of AdsorbentBy Nnadi V.G., Joy Chukwuemeka Peter Ukpaka, Ukpaka Chukwuemeka Peter
Abstract: The need to monitor the degree of comparative study of percentage removal of iron from water media contaminated with petrol motor spirit (PMS) and diesel (AGO) by the application of molded adsorbent in solid form. The adsorbent is made of clay soil with mixed of either of the agro-based materials listed, which include plantain Ogonic Red (POR), plantain Agbagba 1 (PA1) Banana Ogoni Red (BOR) and Banana Native (BN). The …

The Integrity of Eadic-Hofstee Plot Model to Predict the kinetic Parameters of Crude Oil Degradation using Vernonia amygdalina StemBy Abraham Peter Ukpaka, Victor Chukwuemeka Ukpaka, Joy Chukwuemeka Peter Ukpaka, Chukwuemeka Peter Ukpaka
Abstract: The integrity of Eadic-Hofstee concept was tested for the determination of the functional coefficients and parameters of crude oil degradation kinetics. The techniques enhanced the relationship between the substrate divided by the specific rate of the substrate degradation against substrate concentration (TPH). The investigation reveals the values of the biokinetic parameters of maximum specific rate of substrate degradation (Vmax) and the equilibrium constant values of the substrate degradation (Ks). The …
