  Abstract: Incidence of various infections is increasing with increased number of surgeries. Widespread common surgery procedures are associated with a 1–11% risk of surgical site infections (SSIs) which occur when pathogenic organisms proliferate in surgical wounds, result in impede wound healing, cause separation of the wound edges (dehiscence), and increase the risk of abscess in deeper wound tissues.
