Development of Bio-Based Smart Textiles with Temperature Adaptive and Self-Cleaning PropertiesBy Dr. Anita Gaur, Nishi Tyagi
Abstract: This research explores the development of bio-based smart textiles that integrate both temperature-adaptive and self-cleaning properties, responding to the growing need for sustainable and functional innovations in the textile industry. Unlike conventional fabrics, smart textiles provide multifunctional responses to environmental stimuli such as heat, light, and moisture. The focus of this work is on combining renewable natural fibers, biodegradable polymers, and environmentally friendly additives to design textiles that are not …

Preparation of Methyl Esters of Solid Acids from Litsea ConsimilisBy Dr. Anita Gaur
Abstract: This study focuses on the extraction and characterization of fatty acids from the seed oil of Litsea consimilis and their subsequent conversion into methyl esters. The oil demonstrated high iodine and Reichert-Meissl values, indicating a significant content of unsaturated and short-chain fatty acids. Glyceride analysis revealed that trilaurin constitutes over 90% of the triglycerides, confirmed through melting point analysis and hydrolysis yielding lauric acid as the sole component. The oil …
