Possible Ionospheric Precursors to Magnitude 6.2 Earthquake near Iquique, Chile on 1st November, 2018By Anjan Debnath
Abstract: On November 1st, 2018 a strong magnitude 6.2 earthquakes hit areas near Iquique of Chile. According to USGS, the earthquake was deep with epicenter at 102 km from surface. This paper demonstrates possible anomalous changes in the ionospheric parameters like VTEC, foF2, hmF2 in the ionosphere around areas hit by the earthquake a few days prior to the earthquake. These anomalous changes may be treated as ionospheric precursors for strong …

Possible Ionospheric Precursors to Magnitude 6.6, 6.8 and 6.5 Earthquakes near Port Hardy, Canada on 22nd October, 2018By Anjan Debnath
Abstract: On October 22nd, 2018 a series of three large magnitude earthquakes hit areas near Vancouver island of Canada. According to USGS, the earthquakes were shallow with depths of epicenter ranging at around 10 Km. This paper demonstrates possible anomalous changes in the ionospheric parameters like VTEC, foF2, hmF2 in the ionosphere around areas hit by the earthquake a few days prior to the earthquake. These anomalous changes may be treated …

Analysis of anomalous Ionospheric Total Electron Content variation for earthquakes in South East Asian region with International GNSS Service NetworkBy Anjan Debnath
Abstract: A study has been undertaken to find ionospheric total electron content anomaly around various earthquake days occurring in a period from January, 2016, to March, 2017, in the South East Asian region. Large Magnitude shallow earthquakes are considered only. For the study Vertical Total Electron Content (hereafter abbreviated as VTEC) data for various dual frequency GPS receivers maintained by the IGS network was collected with the help of IONOLAB-TEC software …

A Study of the Rainfall Drop-Size Distribution at Umiam using Thies Clima Laser Precipitation Monitor from May to October, 2017By Anjan Debnath
Abstract: Rainfall monitoring has been going on at NESAC, Umiam from February 2016 onwards under the ISRO-ONERA-CNES joint Ka-Band Propagation Experiment. SAC, Ahmedabad has provided NESAC with a Laser Precipitation Monitor to replace its old impact type Disdrometer which is not working anymore. After its installation at NESAC in May 2017, it is giving continuous data. With the LPM data, a drop size distribution study has been done for the tropical …
