Startup of a UASB Reactor using Kitchen EffluentBy Aman U., Jamila B., Arshad A., Rashid M., Kamran M., Ullah Muhammad, Shamin R.
Abstract: This study was designed to evaluate the treatability performance of a single-stage upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor at neutral pH and constant mesophilic temperature, and to investigate the biogas yield of a single-stage UASBR using kitchen effluent. For this purpose 70% of UASB reactor was seeded with anaerobic digester and activated sludge of the nearby wastewater treatment plant. The acclimatization process continued for about 18 days in the laboratory. …

Study on the Wastewater Characteristics of the Kitchen EffluentBy M. Kamran, Jamila B., Arshad A., Aman U., M. Rashid, Muhammad Ullah, Shamin R.
Abstract: The implementation of low-cost, simple mitigation measures are required for the timely control and sustainable management of pollution problems in developing countries. This study was designed to investigate the wastewater characteristics of the kitchen effluent, and to design a low-cost wastewater treatment plant for the kitchen based on the data obtained. For the wastewater quality analysis of the kitchen effluent, various composite samples were collected from the local region. The …
