  Abstract: This paper discusses the use of Taguchi technique for minimizing the surface roughness in machining Aluminium 6061 alloy with carbide tool. The experimental study was carried out in a CNC vertical machining centre (VMC). The experiments have been planned using Taguchi’s experimental design technique.
