Abstract

This project is related to distribution of commodities to resident customers on door to door basis and to provide a device which enables the vendors to deliver the commodities milk bags, newspapers and the like without going from floor to floor and door to door of a building for the delivery of the same. We designed an elevator system by which residents can now pick up Milk Bags and Newspapers and other commodities from their own personalized boxes located outside their flats in corridor. This is achieved by installing an elevator of minimal size in an available duct in the building to carry commodities vertically. These commodities are then transferred safely into the personalized boxes of each individual. Using the Commodity Lift this operation of door to door service of commodities can be eased and mechanized, saving electrical power by avoiding use of the high power elevator of the building thus saving in the operating cost.  The project also reduces the time required for the delivery of commodities to each house since the system is automated.  Yet another advantage of this system is to reduce the manpower required for the delivery operation.
