Fractality of Magnetospheric Dynamics: A Diffusion Entropy Approach
Abstract: There are several self-organization processes in physics such as second-order phase transitions and associated scale-invariant phenomena, structure formation in thermodynamic systems away from equilibrium, self-organization of solitons into vortices in magnetized plasma etc. Space plasmas often display very complex behavior which includes multiscale dynamics, spatio-temporal chaos and self-organized criticality. The study of self-organization in magnetospheric plasma and its relation with instabilities is a subject at the forefront of space research …

Calcareous Soil as a Promising Adsorbent to Remove Fluoride from Aqueous Solution: Equilibrium, Kinetic and Thermodynamic Study
Abstract: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 In this work, the feasibility of employing calcareous soil to remove fluoride ions from its aqueous solutions was investigated under batch mode. The influence of solution pH, sorbent dose, initial fluoride concentration, contact time, stirring rate and temperature on the removal process were investigated. The equilibrium adsorption data were analyzed using Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin isotherm models. The kinetics of fluoride …

Corrosion Testing and Evaluation of Inhibitors Performance
Abstract: Choosing test methods that will analyze specific needs, like film barrier strength that real field settings is essential for the proper evaluation and development of inhibitors. The flowing loop and the bubble test are two examples of the first and second, respectively. Corrosion is measured by gravimetric, electrical noise, alternating-current impedance, potentiodynamic measurement, linear polarization and gravimetric. The inhibitors action can be analyzed in different corrosive environments. Their performance is …

Polymeric Coating Applied for Corrosion Protection of Mild Steel in Corrosive Medium
Abstract: Mild steel is coated with a polymer layer of polybutadiene for protection. However, this coating does not effectively safeguard the metal in environments containing moisture, sulphur dioxide, or chloride. These pollutants interact with the polybutadiene-coated surface, creating a highly corrosive atmosphere. Moisture condenses on the coated metal surface and absorbs sulphur dioxide, forming sulphuric acid. This acid initiates both chemical and electrochemical reactions with the polymer-coated metal, accelerating the corrosion …
