Exploring the Role of Small Dense LDL-C and Paraoxonase-I Activity in Lipid Profile Alterations in Postmenopausal Women: Evidence from a Population-Based Study in Punjab, India
Abstract: Background: After menopause, women face a higher risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) because hormonal changes impact how their bodies process fats. This study aimed to explore the relationship between small dense LDL cholesterol (sdLDL-C), lipid profile, PON1 levels, thyroid function, CBC parameters, and cardiovascular risk in postmenopausal women (45–60 years) in Punjab, India. sdLDL-C is more atherogenic than larger LDL particles, while PON1, linked to HDL, offers heart protection. Thyroid …

Inverse Model for Predicting Thermal Abnormality of the Transient Process Triggered by Defective Electronics Element
Abstract: The paper presents a model for predicting thermal abnormalities in Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) by approximating the thermal process of electric elements with heating from point sources. Circuit board heat sources are defined as point and non-point. The point heat source is a small electronic heating element that can be approximated as having originated from one point on the circuit board. A non-point source is one with heat distributed over …

Thyroid Disorders in Regard to Aetiology, Clinical Patterns, Management
Abstract: Thyroid disorders are one of the important and common endocrine problems encountered in clinical and occupational practice in all age groups more frequently in women and in adult population. Amongst all the functional thyroid disorders, hypothyroidism is far more common than hyperthyroidism. Recognition of this condition at an early stage can delay the progression to overt disease. Appropriate use of biochemical test, i.e., thyroid function test can delineate practically all …

Study of Thyroid Disease in Pregnancy: A Review
Abstract: Pregnancy-related thyroid conditions, the second most prevalent endocrine disorders following diabetes, demand effective management to mitigate adverse consequences for both mother and fetus. Thyroid disease is associated with obstetric and child development complications, necessitating consideration from clinical and scientific viewpoints. This review consolidates current knowledge on thyroid disease in pregnancy, encompassing management, physiological changes, pathological functions, diagnosis, and treatment. Physiological alterations include thyroid stimulation by hCG, placental expression of deiodinases, …
