Screening of Allelopathic Activity of Momordica dioica and Mukia maderaspatana
Abstract: ABSTRACTAllelopathy is a chemical process which a plant uses to keep other plants from growing too close or away from it. Allelopathy refers to the chemical inhibition of one species by another. The “inhibitory” chemical releases into the environment where it affects the development and growth of neighboring plants. In the present investigation to check the allelopathic activity, two plants of family Cucurbitaceae were selected, i.e., Momordica dioica Roxb. ex …

Heterosis–Genetic Basis and Utilization for Improvement of Dairy Cattle: A Review
Abstract: The phenomenon in which progeny of crosses between inbred lines or purebred populations are better than the expected average of the two populations or lines for a particular trait is known as heterosis. Utilization of heterosis is the main goal of crossbreeding. The amount of heterosis maintained in a herd depends on the type of crossbreeding system selected for breeding. Heterosis includes greater viability, faster growth rate and greater milk …

Phytochemical Analysis of Organic Compounds as an Indicator of Metal Uptake in Selected Plants
Abstract: Plants contain a number of potential chelating agents such as amino acids, organic acids, peptides, and proteins, etc. These chelating compounds are very important for the physiological processes in plants. In addition, these ligands are found in both hyperaccumulator and non-hyperaccumulator plants and play a vital role in metal uptake from contaminated soil. Many organic compounds have been found to bind and accumulate trace and toxic metals in hyperaccumulating plants. …
