Abstract

The universal bandwidth shortage for providing high data rate in gigabit per second has motivated the study of Underutilized millimeter wave band. It provides frequency spectrum for future fifth generation mobile communication networks. Propagation of millimeter wave in environment is affected by atmospheric conditions like rain, fog, cloud etc. and it is mostly affected due to presence of rain and rate of rainfall. Our objective is to develop modulation technique for millimeter wave so as to transmit data to receiver with less error in presence of rain. For achieving this we are using wobulation technique. We have plotted bit error rate versus signal to noise characteristic for different wobulation rate. We received less erroneous data at receiver using wobulation technique as compare to the method without using wobulation technique for millimeter wave transmission.   Keywords: Millimeter wave (mm-wave), wobulation, bit error rate (BER), signal to noise ratio (SNR), attenuationCite this Article Deepashree M Bhalerao, Neha P Narekar and Ayush Pareek, Millimeter Wave Modulation for 5G Communication, Recent Trends in Electronic and communication Systems. 2015; 2(2): 31–36p.
