Design Thinking: An Innovative Approach for Engineering Design and Technological Development

Abstract

The advancement in building construction industry such as building automation and building intelligence is becoming the new system requirements that have made the invention of IoT and embedded systems design and development more complex. Every organization is concerned about innovation because it is crucial to the expansion of both the organization and society as a whole. Innovation is anticipated to be an open-minded, design-based process, product, or organizational design. Both developed and developing nations, including the European Union, see design thinking as a critical tool for fostering innovation. Design thinking is the designer’s ability to adopt and apply design methodologies to meet the needs of the client by assessing the technical viability and corporate strategy in order to create client value and market opportunity. The following are the paper’s goals: (i) To investigate how innovation and design thinking are related and (ii) Create a summary of the literature review in order to declare hypotheses based on the information from the review’s evidence and the rationality it revealed.
