Abstract

Education is vital in social mobility, economic development, and reduction of poverty across generations. Nevertheless, children from economically disadvantaged labour-class families may encounter challenges in school attendance, education consistency, and acquisition of educational materials. Economic level, employment, expenditure on education, parents' educational attainment, migration, and household chores could affect educational opportunities for children. In the present study, the association between the economic level of labour-class households and the educational situation of children living in rural areas of Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh, India would be explored. The study will use mixed methods approach including the quantitative evaluation of socioeconomic and educational profile of the household and qualitative examination of the experience of the parents and the students. The areas to be evaluated include monthly income, employment stability, household size, number of earners, indebtedness, educational expenditure, school attendance, interruption in schooling, and educational/digital material accessibility. The available manuscript gives an overview of the research design, sample population, sampling technique, survey questions, qualitative questions, and data analyses techniques used in the study. However, the available information lacks documentation of fieldwork, a sample size, list of villages or blocks where surveys are conducted, date of data collection, response rate, and analysis of primary data collected. It means that economic status of households and their effect on education cannot be quantified from the available information. This study gives a way of investigating the economic obstacles in education participation of labour-class families living in rural Gonda. This proposed research might give an insight into places where educational support is needed. Conclusions from empirical findings can only be made after the completion of field work and analysis of the collected data.
