Combustion Analysis of Ethanol in An HCCI Engine
Abstract: Improving fuel economy and reducing emissions are two major challenges being faced by the automotive industry. Alternative fuels and new combustion concepts are emerging to combat both pollution and fuel crises. Of late, the concept of Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition, has been receiving increased attention due to its potential for simultaneously reducing fuel consumption, NOx and Particulate Emissions. In particular, in HCCI engine research, where combustion is regarded to be …

Development of EDM Electrode by Powder Metallurgy Process
Abstract: The EDM electrode is specially made of tungsten powder by powder metallurgy process. Negative or reverse polarity is used for better results of layer deposition of electrode material of tungsten powder and carbon particles within the dielectric liquid used for machining. The work piece is of low carbon steel or HSS. It is observed that tungsten carbide layer deposited on the work piece has better performance characteristics for application. In …

Process Control Model of a Simple Water Treatment Plant
Abstract: In everyday life we encounter many interesting but complex processes, and we want to be able to describe these processes in an understandable way. This paper presents a mathematical model for studying the process behavior of a water treatment plant. A state equation was developed as a mathematical model of the process. This mathematical model was used to simulate the effects of varying the parameters of the plant (R, C, …
