An Efficient General Distributed Parameter Approach to the Line Transient Analysis using Interpolating Function
Abstract: This paper presents an efficient technique for the time-domain determination of the electromagnetic transients along general transmission lines. The lines can be uniform or nonuniform. The technique is also applicable to line models incorporating dependent sources, such as the distributed voltage-dependent current sources usually adopted for simulating the line corona. The suggested approach is based on the concept of the interpolating functions for the numerical solution of just two simultaneous …

Efficient Approach for Optimal Location of Substations and Feeder Routing
Abstract: This paper is based upon the software developed using genetic algorithm and Kruskal’s algorithm for optimal location of substations and routing of feeders. The developed method is applied to the practical net work and the results obtained. Attempt has been made in this paper to find the optimal solution of distribution network and proper routing of the feeders. The programme has been developed and implemented on SAS Nagar, Mohali in …

New Solution Technique for the Frequency and Transient Response of Transformer Windings with All Inter-Turn Mutual Inductances and Capacitances Included
Abstract: This paper addresses the frequency response, the identification of the resonance frequencies as well as the transient response of transformer windings taking into account all possible inter-turn mutual inductances and capacitances. The mutual inductances and capacitances between any turn to all other turns, i.e., not only the immediately adjacent ones, are considered. The analysis starts with writing the set of simultaneous differential equations relating the currents and voltages within the …

Penalization for Unscheduled Interchange based on Availability Based Tariff in Competitive Electricity Market
Abstract: This paper presents a technique for the penalization of unscheduled interchange within deregulated power sector, it derives its features from a successful frequency linked tariff scheme operational in India and known by the name of Availability Based Tariff (ABT). In this paper, combined model consisting of the pool, bilateral and multilateral transaction of deregulated power sector has been considered, the power market is mostly scheduled for 15 min, one or …
