Pathways in Drug Discovery and Development: From Molecular Targets to Market Approval
Abstract: A complicated, multidisciplinary, and resource-intensive process, the discovery and development of new pharmacological drugs is essential to the advancement of contemporary medicine. Finding and optimising lead chemicals comes after a disease-relevant biological target has been identified and validated. Through preclinical research in animal models, these leads are thoroughly assessed for toxicity, pharmacokinetics, safety, and efficacy. Clinical trials, which are carried out in several stages to evaluate safety, efficacy, ideal dosage, …

Organic Compounds as Anti-inflammatory Agents, Natural and Synthetic
Abstract: Inflammation diseases still threaten humanity everywhere. For which there is always a continuous demand for immediate medication, the so-called anti-inflammatory drug. Anti-inflammatory organic compounds are either of natural origin or synthetic. Many drugs represent the main constituent of plants. Turmeric, ginger, garlic, spinach, broccoli, ginseng, blueberries, clove, Aloe Vera and pineapple all are plants almost rich in anti-oxidant and flavonoids that reduce inflammation. Researchers still have spent decades of years …

Nanomedicine in the Tumor Microenvironment: Physiological Modulation Through Tissue Engineering Approaches
Abstract: The integration of nanomedicine and tissue engineering offers transformative strategies for cancer therapy by directly modulating the physiological processes within the tumor microenvironment (TME). This review emphasizes recent advances in nanomedicine that enable precise drug delivery, controlled release, and real-time monitoring of key physiological parameters influencing tumor progression, angiogenesis, and immune evasion. Tissue-engineered 3D tumor models provide physiologically relevant platforms that better mimic in vivo conditions than traditional 2D cultures, …

Green Medicines in Drug Discovery
Abstract: The process of finding new leads for medicines using natural products is challenging. It discusses bioactive composites generated from natural resources, including phytochemical analysis, characterization, and pharmacological investigation. The success of these resources in the process of discovering unique and effective pharmacological combinations that may help mortal coffers is the primary focus. Natural goods have long been employed as a source of medicinal compounds, and they have shown promising results. …

In-Silico Repurposing of Antipsychotic Drugs Against Novel Protein Targets in Multidrug-Resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis
Abstract: Multidrug-resistant TB is a growing worldwide health concern, particularly in high-burden areas. Resistance to frontline drugs like isoniazid and rifampicin is caused by mutations in key Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins. Given the difficulty of developing new antibiotics, medication repurposing offers a good alternative. The potential use of molecular docking to target resistance-associated TB proteins with FDA-approved antipsychotic drugs is investigated in this work. Three proteins were selected: InhA (PDB ID: 5W07), …
