Performance Analysis of Combined Application of FACTS and HVDC Parallel Tie-Line for Interconnection and Synchronization of Large Thermal Power Grid
Abstract: This research work shows the working principle of two combined cases and application of flexible AC transmission system tie-line and high voltage direct current tie-line for interconnection and synchronization of two large thermal power grid system of 12 areas when load disturbance occurred in power grid-1 ΔPL6 = 0.01 pu. This research work is done with two interconnected linear, conventional and traditional thermal power grid system of 12 areas accepted …

Design and Arduino Implementation of Artificial Neural Network Based Intelligent Power Management System of Bangladesh
Abstract: The research contrivance is to maintain and control load detachment or shedding in local distribution area and also utilize different types of power generation units such as conventional and non-conventional energy sources. The artificial neural network will anticipate, predict and exploit idea when generation is insufficient to meet the load demand. If the demand for the load is more than a generation, the artificial neural network will acknowledge the specific …

Design of a Wireless Protection Scheme for Smart-Grid-Based Industrial Systems
Abstract: This paper illustrates the design of an alternative current measuring method which can be used for the protection of electrical machines, especially generators and motors, used in oil and gas industry. A comparison is made between the use of Hall effect sensors and current transformers for fault current detection. Also, different wireless communication methods that can be used in accordance with Hall effect sensors for detecting faulty conditions are discussed. …

Speed Control of A Doubly Fed Induction Motor using Integral Plus Proportional Controller
Abstract: Conventionally, the speed control manipulate of Doubly-Fed Induction Motor (DFIM) has been developed primarily which is based on traditional Proportional-Plus-Integral (PI) controller due to its simple construction and implementation. The steady-state error minimization, overshoot removal and disturbance rejection are not possible in which the benefits of PI controller are chosen through trial and errors approach. The steady-state error and disturbance rejection may be viable, if the benefits of Proportional-Plus-Integral controller …

Electromagnetic Transients of a Sagging Conductor above Lossy Earth—Effect of its Loading and of the Earth Parameters
Abstract: This paper addresses the electromagnetic transients of a non-uniform overhead transmission line conductor with due consideration of its receiving-end load, its sag and of the earth parameters. The concept of the complex penetration depth is adopted in the formulation of the line’s equations in the s-domain. A relation for the conductor height as a function of the longitudinal co-ordinate is derived and incorporated in the analysis. The two simultaneous differential …
