The Electromagnetic Transients in Mixed Power Networks with Partial Undergrounding
Abstract: This paper deals with the electromagnetic transients in partially undergrounded mixed high voltage power networks. These networks can include several cable sections replacing parts of the overhead transmission lines. The analysis yields the transient voltage and current distributions along the normal and the partially undergrounded lines. Moreover, the results can indicate eventually existing localized voltage and current concentrations within the network. The study suggests an exact direct analytical distributed parameter …

Extended Switched Inductor Quasi Z Source Inverter for Photovoltaic Applications
Abstract: A novel extended switched inductor quasi Z source inverter is proposed in this paper for better voltage boosting with improved power factor and reliability. The operation of the proposed inverter is described with its equivalent circuit explaining operating states such as shoot through and non-shoot through states and outlining the relationship between output voltage, total harmonic distortion and power factor. Simple boost scheme is used for switching actions of the …

A Review on Cascade Tripping and Islanding Scheme
Abstract: Large black outs typically involve sophisticated and cascading chains of events. Giant blackout though sporadic, is expensive to society with estimates of direct prices up to billions of bucks. There also are indirect prices like attainable social disruptions and also the propagation of failures into different infrastructures like communications, water system, fossil fuel and transportation. The very important importance of electrical power to our society motivates continuing attention to maintaining …

Paper Battery for Portable Electronics: A Review
Abstract: This paper depicts about paper battery. A paper battery is an adaptable, ultrathin vitality stockpiling and generation gadget framed by consolidating Carbon Nanotubes with a customary sheet of cellulose based paper. A paper battery can work both as a high vitality battery and super capacitor. The battery produces power similarly as the traditional lithium-particle batteries however every one of the segments has been consolidated into a light weight adaptable sheet …

Photovoltaic System Based Modified SEPIC Converter with Perturb and Observe Algorithm
Abstract: In recent years, because of the increasing demand of the electrical energy, the solar energy has been considered as one of principal renewable energy sources for electric power generation. As it has low power efficiency; to increase the extracted power from PV system is a matter of concern. To extract maximum power, a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller is necessary in a PV system. In this paper, a PV …
