Design and Analysis of a Solar-Wind Hybrid System
Abstract: Renewable energy sources like wind and solar energies can be combined to increase the totalpower generation and thereby increase the efficiency of the system. The combination alsoprovides a means to overcome the intermittent nature of the solar and wind renewable energysources, since one source can be used for power generation when the other is not available.AC-DC converters are used to convert the alternating voltage of the wind generator to aconstant …

The Energization Transients of 6-Pulse Rectifier Circuits
Abstract: This paper addresses the energization transients of 6-pulse rectifier circuits. It applies anefficient representation of the diodes in order to describe their performance in both theforward and reverse directions. Without any loss of generality, the suggested method isapplied to the classical un-controlled six-valve full-wave rectifier bridge configuration. Theeffect of the load resistance, the eventual presence of smoothing shunt-capacitors and seriesinductors as well as the waveform of the supply voltage is …

Role of solar energy in new trends of generation of electrical energy
Abstract: Solar energy is playing a crucial role in recount the electrical energy as there is tiny fall in thisenergy due to more demand and decline trends of conventional source of energies exhaustion offuels like coal, petroleum, natural gases and constant of environmental and climatic changes tograpple up this photovoltaic installation is being done in an electrical system to compensate andenhance the energy. A photovoltaic installation in an electrical system is …

Shock Waves in an Electron Depleted Dusty Plasma with Nonextensive Ions
Abstract: A theoretical investigation of dust acoustic shock waves in an electron depleted dusty plasma comprising of negatively charged dust and two temperature non-extensive ions is investigated. The Korteweg-de-Vries Burgers equation is derived with the help of reductive perturbation method. Different physical parameters such as number density of cold ions, non-extensive parameter of cold and hot ions, temperature ratio of cold to hot ions significantly modify the characteristics of dust-acoustic shock …

A Novel Algorithm for an Optimal Reconfiguration of a Power Distribution System
Abstract: This paper presents a new optimization method based on the Hybrid Symbiotic organism Search Algorithm (HSOS) for the reconfiguration of a power distribution network for minimizing active power losses and maximizing voltage at each node. The HSOS method is a new metaheuristic algorithm that improves the Symbiotic organism Search (SOS) algorithm. This new technique is a combination of the SOS and the PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm. It is applied …
