New Methods for the Prediction of Multiphase Flow through Wellhead Choke in Gas-Condensate Reservoirs
Abstract: Abstract The wellhead chokes are installed in order to stabilize oil and gas flow rates in production and operation disciplines. Most of the existing empirically derived correlations and predictive models to estimate choke performance have been proposed for oil fields production and operational conditions, and particularly production systems and reservoirs involved with condensation of the gaseous phase still suffer from a detailed consideration on the development of reliable predictive models. …

Modelling and Structural Analysis of Ice Strengthened Vessel
Abstract: Abstract In this paper, one global and one local FE-model are developed in order to calculate the response of ice loading on an ice strengthened 100.000 DWT oil carrier. A global analysis is performed by applying loads in two different areas in the bow region. The deformations of the global model are used as boundary conditions in the analysis of the local model. In each of the two areas, the …

Energy Security of India Through CIS Hydrocarbon Resources
Abstract: Abstract The commonwealth of independent states is a regional organization formed during the breakup of the Soviet Union. Nine out of the 15 former Soviet Republics are member states, and two are associate members (Ukraine and Turkmenistan). The quantum of hydrocarbon resources is enormous and it can satisfy the demand of hydrocarbon resources in India to a great extent. The IEA defines energy security as the uninterrupted availability of energy …

Concrete Oil and Gas Platforms in Offshore Marine Environment: A Review
Abstract: Abstract Offshore concrete structures have been successfully in use since 1973. Since then, 47 major concrete offshore structures were built worldwide. They were mostly used in the petroleum industry as drilling, extraction or storage units for crude oil or natural gas. Generally, offshore concrete structures are classified into fixed and floating structures. Fixed structures are mostly built as concrete gravity based structures where the loads are directly transferred through concrete …

Increasing Importance of LNG in Global Gas Trade
Abstract: Abstract Natural gas is fast emerging preferred fuel globally. In 2015, total globally traded liquefied natural gas (LNG) volumes reached 244.8 mt, a 4.7 mt increase over 2014. It marks an all-time high for LNG trade market, surpassing the previous high set in 2011 by 3.3 mt on the back of Fukushima accident in Japan. The changing dynamics is leading to entry of new suppliers and buyers in gas business. …
