An Algorithm for Road Sign Detection and Recognition using HOG and SVM
Abstract: Recognizing traffic signs is a challenging problem; and it has captured the attention of the computer vision community for several decades. Essentially, traffic sign recognition is a multi-class classification problem that has become a real challenge for computer vision and machine learning techniques. We present a system which will detect the road sign with shape detection technique. Further recognition of road sign is carried out using Histogram Oriented Gradient and …

Optimization of TSP using Genetic Algorithm
Abstract: Genetic Algorithm (GAs) is used to solve optimization problems. It is depended on the selection operator, crossover and mutation rates. In this paper Mendel operator and its laws with different crossover & mutation probabilities, is used to solve well known optimization problem, Traveling Salesmen Problem (TSP). We have shown that there are some drawbacks present when we solve TSP with GA.Keywords: Genetic algorithm, Mendel operator, Travelling Salesmen Problem Cite this …

An Algorithm for License Plate Detection using Wavelet Transform
Abstract: As the importance of public transportation system increases, an Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) has turned out to be an important research issue. It is becoming difficult to keep track of each vehicle for purpose of law enforcement and traffic management. ALPR equipped in many intelligent surveillance systems like, road traffic management, security management, automatic toll collection system etc. The basic steps in ALPR were accurate localization of number plate, …
