Content-based Image Retrieval: Recent Trends and Techniques
Abstract: Due to the affordability of digital devices and the accessibility of internet technologies, a vast number of multimedia databases have been established for various applications. These image databases increase the need for efficient picture retrieval search strategies that meet user requirements. When compared to other systems, the content-based image retrieval (CBIR) system is one of the most widely used systems for retrieving images from enormous databases. Much work has been …

Automatic Number Plate Recognition Based Image Processing
Abstract: In most countries, traffic control and vehicle owner identification have become important problems. It is almost impossible to identify vehicle owners who break rules of the traffic, especially those driving at high speeds. Another problem inhibits traffic officers from catching the offenders in most cases because solving traffic offenders involves retrieving license plate numbers from fast-moving vehicles. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems have been developed as an effective solution …

Face Aging Using Generative Adversarial Network
Abstract: This project addresses the challenge of predicting how a person may look in the future or how they appeared in the past using a single photograph. While existing methods mainly focus on altering texture, they often neglect changes in head shape that naturally occur during the aging process, limiting their effectiveness, especially when applied to images of children. To tackle this issue, a novel approach is introduced that employs a …

Sign Language-enabled Offline IP-based Video Call Intercom System for the Deaf
Abstract: Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing frequently encounter major communication challenges on digital platforms because sign language support is often insufficient. This study presents a real-time, internet-independent sign language-to-text translation system embedded in an offline IP-based video intercom, designed to facilitate seamless communication. Leveraging TensorFlow’s Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for classification and MediaPipe for hand tracking, the system achieved a training accuracy of 94.24% and a validation accuracy …

Transfer Learning in Deep Learning Models for Medical Imaging: Utilizing Pretrained Models to Improve Performance in Medical Image Analysis
Abstract: Transfer learning is now a trending technique in deep learning, especially in medical imaging. This technique solves landmark problems by utilizing the pre-trained models, including the limited availability of the annotated medical data and the time-consuming computational costs of training deep learning models from scratch. The generalizability of deep models could increase diagnostic precision for specific medical tasks, require fewer samples to train, and take less time to train due …
