Online State Estimation and Fault Detection of a Doubly Fed Induction Machine by an Interconnected High Gain Observer
Abstract: This article presents the states and disturbance estimation of a doubly fed induction machine by the use of an interconnected high gain observer. The supply is made of a rectifier, a filter and an inverter. We consider the parameters such as the load couple, the electromagnetic couple and the speed on the only basis of the electric quantities. The results show that the error between the estimated and measured parameters …

Optimal Allocation of STATCOM FACTS Controller for Loss Reduction and Voltage Stability Enhancement in a Nine Bus Power System
Abstract: It is being a huge concern about the complexity and severity of recent days’ power system. The main objective of the power system concern is the flexibility and fast control characteristics of power transmission between generating station to distribution grid. So, in order to have a reliable and quality power transmission, FACTS (flexible AC transmission system) controllers are introduced. Here, a shunt type of FACTS controller such as STATCOM (Static …

Optimal Selection of Solar Tracking System in India: A Review
Abstract: At present, continuous efforts are being made to maximize the utilization of the solar energy and increase conversion efficiency of the PV array. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) is a technique that is extensively used to track the sun so as to obtain maximum power. We review the various methodologies and techniques that have been used so far to design both single and dual axis solar trackers using MPPT. Keeping …

Design and Analysis of Closed Flow System with Varying Various Parameters of Hydrodynamics for PEH
Abstract: In this work, a piezoelectric energy harvesting system is designed, which can vary different parameters for analyzing the output of PVDF (e.g. water flow rate, piezoelectric patch, piezoelectric circuit, pressure head and different configurations of installation of piezoelectric etc.). A prototype model is made of this system is made for experimental analysis. The analysis of the prototype is done by varying two parameters (i) Water flow rate (ii) Piezoelectric circuit. …

Generalized Rail Clamping Sequences Based PWM (GRCPWM) Algorithm for Direct Torque Controlled Induction Motor Drive
Abstract: The paper presents Rail Clamping Sequence based Pulse Width Modulation (RCPWM) algorithms applied to Direct Torque Control (DTC) of induction motor drive. This RCPWM based DTC retains all the advantages of conventional DTC (CDTC), moreover it eliminates the complexity involved in SVPWM algorithm and results in reduced current ripple at higher modulation indices and lowers the switching losses at all modulation indices. To validate the proposed method, simulation through MATLAB …
