Adaptive Generalized Predictive Control of Anti Lock Braking System
Abstract: Anti lock braking system (ABS) is one of the most important topics in the field of car stability control system design. Among the various control strategies which are common in designing control systems, model predictive control (MPC) received great attention in industries. Independent generalized predictive control (IMGPC) is a new and effective predictive control strategy than can be easily implement on linear system. In this paper a novel adaptive control …

Design and Simulation of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) Based Speed Control for an Induction Motor Taking Core Loss and Stray Load Losses into Account
Abstract: Indirect field oriented control scheme has been preferred due to its superior performance for Induction Motor. Core Loss and stray load losses are generally neglected in the mathematical model of induction motor. But it should be consider in the mathematical model of induction motor to precisely control the torque and flux. Conventional PI controller has overshoot effect at the transient period of the speed response curve. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) …

Signal Modeling, Control and Simulation of Boost Converter Using PV Cell
Abstract: DC-DC converters are switched power converters. They are used to convert one DC voltage to another DC voltage. It is inordinately used in industry as well as in research. The model of the converter system varies from the ON state to the OFF state. The major drawback of the boost converter is the uncontrolled supply of voltage and current. So, a convectional PID controller is designed to regulate the output …

Sensorless Direct Power Control of Brushless DC Motor Drive using Unknown Input Speed Observer
Abstract: This paper proposes the speed control of brushless DC (BLDC) motor via direct power control (DPC) method as a novel and effective strategy in electrical drives applications. The DPC has some advantages rather than other control methods of BLDC motor including simpler control algorithm and faster dynamic response. In proposed BLDC motor drive based on DPC strategy, space vector modulation (SVM) voltage source inverter is employed. To enhance the drive …

Speed Estimator for Sensorless Field-Oriented Control Induction Motor Drive Using Intelligent Neural Networks
Abstract: This paper presents a novel approach to the field-oriented control (FOC) of induction motor drives. It discusses the introduction of artificial neural networks (ANNs) for decoupling control of induction motors using FOC principles. The neural network has been then designed and trained online by employing a back propagation network (BPN) algorithm. The estimator was designed and simulated in Matlab/Simulink. Simulation result shows a good performance of speed estimator. Simulation results …
