Design Optimization of a Micro Wind Turbine
Abstract: Nation’s economic health depends on Industrialization. For the growth of Industrial sector i.e. in turn that of society, adequate uninterrupted electric power is essential. Conventional fuel sources are limited and hence the whole world is searching for proper renewable energy sources. Out of many renewable energy sources (Solar, wind, waves etc.) wind energy is offering substantial contribution today. Although, according to Betz’s limit, only 59% energy conversion (i.e. efficiency) can …

Dynamic Modelling, Simulation of Single-Link Flexible Robot Manipulator and its Control
Abstract: This paper presents the dynamic modelling of single link flexible manipulator based on Assumed Modes Method. Modelling of flexible robot manipulator is a challenging task because of its nonlinearity and complexity involved in the dynamics. Kinetic energy, potential energy, and dissipation energy are taken into consideration for dynamics modelling. The model is simulated using SIMULINK software by considering proper parameters and constants. Modelling dynamics is simulated by using two different …

Anti-synchronization of Vallis System using Sliding Mode Control
Abstract: This paper is concerned with anti-synchronization of Vallis system (talks about fluctuations of temperature in western and eastern parts of near-equatorial area of the ocean). Sliding mode control is proposed to achieve the proposed anti-synchronization. A proportional integral switching surface is devised with appropriate control law and reduction of chattering is considered as well. Simulation results are given for verification and effectiveness of the proposed scheme. Simulation results reveal that …

Auto Tuning of PI Controller using Fuzzy Logic for the Spherical Tank System and its Real Time Implementation
Abstract: In this paper, Auto Tuning of PI controller using fuzzy logic is developed to improve the performance of the spherical tank process. A real time implementation of proposed controller for a spherical tank to control liquid level is studied. Control of liquid level in a spherical tank is highly non linear due to variation in the area of cross section of level system with change in shape. System identification of …

Comparison of Tuning Methods of PID Controllers of Two Conical Tank System of Interacting Type
Abstract: The rapid increasing complexity of modern control systems has accentuated the idea of applying new modern approaches in order to solve design problems for various control engineering applications. This paper deals with the tuning of PID controllers for complex nonlinear process of two interacting Conical Tank Systems. Conical tanks play vital role in leaching extractions in pharmaceutical and chemical industries, as well as in food processing industry. It is a …
