Synthesis Effect of Natural/Chemical Blend Nanoparticles on Impact Strength of Sustainable Composite Material
Abstract: Synthesis effect of mixing two types of nanoparticles in the same matrix polyester based sustainable composite was studied in this article. The nanoparticles blend includes sunflower seeds and calcium carbonate with amount 1–3 wt.%. Results showed that the samples containing sunflower seed nanoparticles have high impact strength compared to the samples with calcium carbonate, and increases with increasing reinforcement ratio compared with sample having calcium carbonate nanoparticles. Keywords: Sustainable composite, …

Synthesis of Biodiesel from Biowaste/Vegetable Oil by Using Heterogeneous Nano-Catalyst
Abstract: This paper presents preparation of heterogeneous nanocatalyst (NaOH/ZnO-Li2CO3) for biodiesel synthesis from biowaste/vegetable oil by transesterification. Transesterification is an important reaction that produces fatty acid methyl esters which are excellent substitutes for diesel fuel. Biodiesel production by using nanocatalyst is one of important approaches in the biofuel research. The optimization of transesterification reaction is affected by the catalyst type, reaction temperature, reaction time, methanol to biowaste/oil ratio. The analysis of …

The Comparative Catalytic Activities of Tungstate and Molybdate Ions on Oxygen Transfer Reactions Used in Production of Some Petrochemicals
Abstract: The comparative catalytic activities and kinetics of formation of glycerine from oxidation of allyl alcohol by hydrogen peroxide in the presence of sodium tungstate and sodium molybdate as catalyst have been studied. The reaction is zero order with respect to hydrogen peroxide concentration and the reaction is first order with respect to allyl alcohol and catalyst (sodium tungstate or sodium molybdate) concentrations. Tungstate catalyzed formation of glycerine from allyl alcohol …

Corrosion Inhibition of Mild Steel in Acidic Medium using Essential Oil of Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) as Inhibitor
Abstract: This research work deployed a weight loss technique in evaluating the feasibility and efficiency of using essential oil of clove as corrosion inhibitor due to its anti-oxidant properties. Prepared sample of mild steel was exposed to acidic medium in the absence of inhibitor and the corrosion rate was evaluated. Subsequently, other samples of the same mild steel were exposed to acidic environment in the presence of varied concentrations of the …

Thermal Adsorption Processing of Hydrocarbon Residues
Abstract: The raw materials of secondary catalytic processes must be pre-refined. Among these refining processes are the deasphalting and demetallization including their thermo-adsorption (or thermo-contact adsorption) variety. In oil processing, four main processes of thermo-adsorption refining of hydrocarbon residues are used—Asphalt Residual Treating- residues deasphaltizing (ART), Discriminatory Destructive Distillation (3D), developed in the US; Adsorption-Contact Treatment (ACT) and Express Thermo-Contact Cracking (ETCC), developed in Russia. ART and ACT are processes with …
