Attitude Determination using Extended Kalman Filter for Elliptical Orbit Satellites
Abstract: This paper investigates the influence of eccentricity on the performance of the attitude determination and control subsystem (ACDS) pointing of passive low earth orbit (LEO) satellites stabilized by a gravity-gradient boom. The contribution of this work is two-fold. First, satellite attitude dynamics and kinematics are modeled by introducing the orbit eccentricity in the equation of motion of an LEO satellite in order to provide the best scenarios in which satellite …

Air Intake Aerodynamics
Abstract: Air Intake aerodynamic design for fighter aircraft is described herein. Axial flow compressor is considered. The air intake pressure recovery mass flow requirement, flow distortion and flow stability are explained. Some design related issues are addressed. Air intakes of varied design are compared. Computational numerical techniques are brought out for design and analysis. Keywords: Aerodynamics, Compressor, Air intake

Design and Fabrication of a Flapping Wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle with Bird Kinematics
Abstract: The artificial design of the bird was started out with the inspiration of bird flight and breaking that complex motion into a mechanism that is easily replicable. The design went with an active reference to the already existing as well as unique flapping wing UAV titled Ê»smart birdʼ by the Festo Corporation. But unlike the bird designed by Festo, we have changed the active torsion mechanism design and made it …
