Abstract

Optimization is the one of the techniques used in manufacturing industry to achieve the best output condition, which is necessary for industry production at high quality in the minimum input cost. In this paper, we find out the optimal value towards the best production quality. There are many optimization techniques and one of them is Taguchi-based grey relation analysis method. In this experiment, the method is applied on L27 orthogonal array for grey relational analysis. The grey relation analysis method process parameters like Yarn diameter, RPM, Ply Twist and cable twist in the textile machine process to identify the Breaking Strength (BS) and Yarn length (YL) of the work piece (Nylon 6) of machine for finding the optimal value of the parameter of textile machine. The confirmation experiments carried out optimal results. Thus the machining parameter was optimized for achieving the combined objectives of higher Breaking Strength and yarn diameter. The result shows that grey relational analysis is an effective procedure to optimize the machining parameter.
