Open Access Statistics Journals Indexed in DOAJ: A Study

Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the status of open access journals in the subject of statistics at a global level. For this study data taken from the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) from the year 2003 to 2022. This study is focused on 57 statistics journals indexed in DOAJ. Different parameters like status of DOAJ Seal, status of APCs, language-wise distribution of journals, licenses of OA, country-wise distribution of journals, peer review system followed by journals and year-wise distribution of journals are used for the data analysis. Study revealed that most of the open access Statistics journals which are indexed in DOAJ were adopt the CC BY license. Study also reaveled thatUnited States is leading country in publishing OA journals in Statistics as compare to other countries. This study found that a large number of open access journals in the subject of statistics are indexed in the year 2022. This study will be useful for the researchers in the field of statistics. Also will be useful for the statistitians and academic students to get information about open access journals in statisctics subject.
