Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has led to a significant surge in online shopping, commonly referred to as e-shopping, on a global scale. This evolution in the shopping landscape allows consumers to make purchases conveniently from anywhere and at any time. While the advantages of e-shopping are evident, a notable challenge arises in the form of limited opportunities for online shoppers to physically try on clothing items, presenting a major drawback to the overall shopping experience. Hence, a virtual fitting room using AR is proposed to be developed as a mobile application to allow shoppers to visualize how clothing looks and fits on their bodies without wearing it actually. This initiative aims to enhance the shopping journey for consumers by offering a virtual try-on experience, allowing them to assess clothing for size, fit, and style. The system incorporates augmented reality (AR), human body detection, and motion tracking technologies to dynamically adapt garment models to the user's body in real-time, leveraging the smartphone camera to monitor the user's movements. Pose estimation models are employed to recognize, detect, and track body skeleton-joint positions, while analysis and interpretation of body and garment measurements contribute to seamlessly aligning virtual garments with the user's physique.
