Mechanical Properties of Hybrid Elastomer Blends

Abstract: Novolac nano additives (0–40) wt.% were added to NBR/CR hybrid blends and study the influence on mechanical properties of rubber. Mechanical properties included: hardness, resilience, and Compressibility. The results obtained from IRHD test, hardness test and compression test shown that the novolac nano additives has a positive effect on the hardness of hybrid rubber, where the hybrid rubber hardness increases with increasing the amount of novolac nano additive. In the …

    Fire-Mechanical Properties of Geopolymer Concrete

Abstract: Nanoscale Aluminum hydroxide was added in different proportions (10, 15, 20) wt% for Low-calcium fly ash-based geopolymer concrete to increase its resistance to fires. ASTM E84 - 16 standard with 750°C temperature was used to test the ability of aluminum hydroxide to enhance the resistance of concert to burning. The practical results proven the efficiency of aluminum hydroxide as a fire retardant to impede the flame and improved geopolymer compressive …

Synthesis Effect of Natural/Chemical Blend Nanoparticles on Impact Strength of Sustainable Composite Material

Abstract: Synthesis effect of mixing two types of nanoparticles in the same matrix polyester based sustainable composite was studied in this article. The nanoparticles blend includes sunflower seeds and calcium carbonate with amount 1–3 wt.%. Results showed that the samples containing sunflower seed nanoparticles have high impact strength compared to the samples with calcium carbonate, and increases with increasing reinforcement ratio compared with sample having calcium carbonate nanoparticles. Keywords: Sustainable composite, …

The Rheological Effect of SiO2 Nanoparticles Additives for NBR/CR Blends

Abstract: The rheological alteration of NBR/CR after adding various nano-quantities of silicon oxide (0–50) wt.% was studied. The rheological properties that were tested are viscosity, scorch time, cure time and max torque. Oscillating disk rheometer was used for measuring the above properties. The experimental results have shown that the silicon oxide additives have a good effect on viscosity and max torque during vulcanization, but at the same time the scorch and …
