The Global and Regional Challenge of Pan-Antibiotic Resistance: A Review of Emerging Threats and MechanismsBy Sharique Ahmad, Dilshad Ali Rizvi, Md Shumayel Athar Khan, Subuhi Anwar, Ruvy Verma, Mayuri Agarwal
Abstract: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the major and most intricate threats to the health of the 21st century as it is core to the undermined expertise of the common clinical practice and public health security worldwide. The problem is characterized by the extensive development of bacterial pathogens into extremely drug-resistant (XDR) and pan-drug-resistant (PDR) so- called superbugs faster than it can be done with therapeutics. It is a synthesis …

Cellular Mechanisms of Autophagy in Carcinogenesis: A Narrative ReviewBy Sharique Ahmad, Shekhar Srivastava, Raushan Kumar, Pooja Srivastav, Pushpendra D. Pratap, Faiza Hasan Khan
Abstract: Autophagy is a highly conserved lysosomal degradation pathway essential for cellular homeostasis, metabolic adaptation, and survival under stress. In the context of carcinogenesis, autophagy exhibits a paradoxical and stage-dependent role. During early tumor development, autophagy acts as a tumor-suppressive mechanism by limiting genomic instability, oxidative stress, and chronic inflammation. Conversely, in established malignancies, cancer cells exploit autophagy to sustain growth, survive hostile tumor microenvironments, and resist anticancer therapies. Increasing evidence …

Unravelling the Environment, Aroma, and Molecular Effects on Mood Fluctuations: A ReviewBy Sharique Ahmad, Pushpendra D. Pratap
Abstract: The ebb and flow of human emotions encompass a complex interplay of molecular processes governing mood fluctuations. This comprehensive review navigates the intricate realm of neurotransmitters, neuroplasticity, hormonal influences, genetics, and inflammation to unravel the molecular tapestry that shapes our emotional states. Foundational to mood regulation are neurotransmitters – serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine – orchestrating delicate balances within neural circuits. Recent molecular neuroscience elucidates their receptor pathways and signaling cascades, …

Metabolic Reprogramming in Carcinogenesis: An OverviewBy Sharique Ahmad, Nishat I. Iram, Priyesh Srivastava, Sidrah Fatima, Sharique Ahmad, Raushan Kumar
Abstract: Metabolic reprogramming is a crucial mechanism via which cells modify their metabolic pathways to adjust to changes in the environment and maintain growth, survival, and function. This phenomenon is of utmost importance in a wide range of physiological and pathological situations, specifically in cancer, immunological responses, and stem cell biology. In cancer, metabolic reprogramming facilitates fast cell growth and survival, as demonstrated by the Warburg effect, where cancer cells prioritize …
